Altai Brothers is run by brothers Byerdikhajy and Samyenbyet. Our journeys introduce you to western Mongolia through its landscapes, families and local traditions. Byerdikhajy explains practical tour details in English. Samyenbyet coordinates with host families and vehicles, and speaks Turkish.

How planning works
Personal confirmation before commitment
Sending an enquiry starts a conversation. It does not confirm availability or reserve a departure. We discuss your dates, group and preferences with you before agreeing the trip details.
No advance payment is required. After written confirmation, payment is due on arrival in Ölgii before your tour begins. We agree the payment method and currency before you travel and provide a receipt when you pay. Ask for your written itinerary, quote and booking terms. Check exactly what is included and excluded, such as transport, accommodation, meals, activities, permits and equipment.
You can withdraw an unconfirmed reservation request without a cancellation charge. For a confirmed trip, cancellation and date-change terms must be agreed in writing before you commit. Read our booking and cancellation approach .
On Spring and Autumn Migration trips, bathing is available only at our family's guesthouse in Uujim. There are no bathing facilities while staying with the migrating family. Spring includes Uujim stays before and after the countryside portion; autumn bathing visits are arranged around the family's timing.

Your route and arrival
Confirm where your trip starts and ends, arrival times, local transfers and any travel you need to arrange separately. Ask how flight changes could affect the itinerary.
Accommodation and facilities
Discuss the planned mix of stays, sleeping arrangements, toilets, washing facilities, electricity and charging access. Tell us about dietary or accessibility needs so we can discuss what is possible.
Walking and riding
Tell us your experience, fitness and comfort with walking or horses. Ask about daily distances, terrain, riding arrangements, equipment and alternatives before choosing a trip.
Conditions and itinerary changes
Ask about expected weather, road conditions, remote stretches and how changes would be discussed. Confirm the arrangements for any festival or seasonal activity before making related bookings.
Health, insurance and support
Discuss relevant needs and ask about support, communication and emergency arrangements for your specific route. Check with your insurer that your planned activities and remote travel are covered, including evacuation where needed.
Price and booking terms
No advance payment is required. Agree the total price, group size, inclusions, exclusions and cancellation terms in writing. Payment is due on arrival in Ölgii before the tour begins; confirm the method, currency and any exchange calculation before travelling.
